50 Shades of Concrete

Do you ever wonder why your driveway looks different in color than your neighbors? Or maybe you just had a crack repaired in your driveway and the patch stands out?

There are many factors that affect the colour of the concrete:

  • Materials that go into the concrete mix
  • Humidity on the day of pour
  • Water content
  • Temperature during and after pour
  • Amount of sunlight the concrete receives

Concrete will continue to lighten over time. Due to the differing colours of concrete it is difficult to match concrete exactly when repairing.  This is why colour variance in concrete repair patches is considered acceptable.  It does not affect the strength or durability of your concrete.
